Understanding the Rationale of "The Fit"

 

The importance of fit is crutical to a worker's success in a college, trade school,  and beyond. The goal of the counselor is to help the worker select schools that are educationally, socially, and emotionally appropriate.   This means that we must find schools that “fit” the student and will allow the individual to learn, grow, and succeed.

 

The single most important factor in a  sound educational choice that a student must make when looking at schools is by making  is knowledge.   When a worker work with us,  they quickly get a comprehensive and knowledge extract from

 

• the personal research to uncover new information as well as verify data on such factors as admission, financial aid, academic offerings, social environment, and extracurricular activities

 

• Our visits to colleges, independent schools, and programs for top tier candidates,  those who struggle academically, have learning differences, or are low income/at-risk teens

 

• Professional interaction with College & Univerity admissions officers, community colleges and trade school faculty, and students,  but also some private vocational schools.

 

• Follow-up contact with thousands of former advisees regarding their experiences at their chosen schools

 

• interaction with professional counselors and consultants through our professional organizations and conventions. 

 

 

Equally important is the self-knowledge and the perspective that worker brings to the consultation.  The consultation experience can be a journey of discovery—even for worker who are self-aware. The process not only enables workers to re-define themselves and determine what really matters to them but also helps parents see their child with new eyes.

 

Golden State ETV Consultants work parallel with the worker, and their attorney,if applicable,  to find educational options that are appropriate for the worker’s individual abilities and personal goals.
